Nica x Light/Raito

Hearing the knocking on the front door from downstairs, Light immediately put down his pen and stuffed the Death Note carelessly into the drawer to his right. He locked it with a silver metal key, then stuffed it into his pocket.

"Light!" The same voice of his sister rang out in a musical tone. "There's someone at the door! I think she's here for you."

There were a few loud pounds on his door.

"I'll be right out," he called, pushing the POWER button on the television. As the screen went black, he skid out of his chair and made his way downstairs, taking note that the arrogant shinigami Ryuuk was following close behind. His hand rested lightly on the doorknob, then twisted it and yanked open the door, carelessly.

"Hi there... Nice to see you."

Light forced away the irritation that was bothering him and smiled. He hated being interupted when he was on a roll with the killings. Still nonetheless, he stood aside and held the door open for her. Solely to please his mother, but it wasn't obvious.

"Yes, I'm ready," he said, keeping his voice down. "Did you finish those problems I gave you last session?"

ooc/ Can I just say something? I find it AMAZING that you used smarticle. I came up with that when I was seven years old, and I've said it with my friends... and somehow, DISNEY got a hold of it.

Light sighed, softly. "Oh, I see. Why don't you head up to the bedroom, and I'll meet you there."
He shut the door behind her, ignoring the sexual remarks and giggles coming from his little sister. This tutoring thing was going to be harder than he'd first thought.

Light followed up the stairs as soon as she recoperated from the fall and locked the door behind him. He flipped on the overhead light with the turn of a switch and pulled out the chair on the desk.
"Have a seat," he demanded. "Show me where you're still stuck."
He couldn't remember how many times they had gone over this.

"Math gods?" Light repeated with a slight chuckle. "Not entirely. Now... You have about half of this first equation correct, but after you reach the parenthesis and the order of operations ordeal, you seem to lose yourself... Why don't you try doing it again, and I'll stop you when you're going wrong?"

ooc/ Twenty minutes to midnight

Light sat quietly for a few moments, but he quickly took the pencil from her hand. "Alright, pay attention," he told her. His fingers used the small leaded stick to etch a few black marks on the paper. "Alright, see how I did that?" He asked her.

Light smiled at her. "Alright," he determined, standing up straight. He put the pencil back down on the flat piece of paper and patted her on the shoulder. "Then you finish the paper, and I'll correct it."
He drew back and sat down on the bed, staring at her back, ignoring the complaints from Ryuuk about his daily apple.

Light nodded once and stood up. He leaned over her, his chest against her back. Thinking nothing of it, he stared down at the paper and pencil markings she made. "Hmm..." He stayed quiet for a moment, his eyes scanning it over and over again. Soon, the edges of his lips curled into a smile. "Alright, nice job, Nica."

Light smiled again. "Would you like something to drink?" He asked.
What am I doing? He thought to himself. I should be getting out of here as soon as I can.
It was as if his mouth was moving on its own.

Light shook his head and stood up. "No, no. I insist," he told her, sternly. "You stay here, alright?"
He was getting really sick of hearing Ryuuk's whining. This was just an excuse to let him induldge in an apple or two.

Light slowly made his way down the steps, and once he entered the kitchen he poured Nica a glass of water. Meanwhile, Ryuuk greedily gorged himself with the apples in the basket on the table. Neither one could understand why Light had a prolonged feeling to keep her here.
